MERLIN STEADING

Welcome to Merlin Steading.

Plan your perfect country escape in this charming stone-built steading, brimming with elegant luxury and a wealth of unique architectural details.

Built in Victorian times, this traditional stone-walled farm steading is accessibly located in spectacular rural Perthshire, and its conversion to high-quality accommodation puts comfort and style high on the agenda. Expansive gable-end windows allow the beautiful Highland light to stream into the spacious living area, while exposed stone walls, chunky timber barn doors and painted wood panelling bring a contemporary flavour to traditional country style.

Two bedrooms – a twin and a double – comfortably sleep up to four guests. Both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, including a walk-in shower, while the double room also has a bath.

In the spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/living area, comfort and relaxation is the order of the day. You’ll feel instantly at home in this modern space, with its generously upholstered sofas, cosy throws and a smart contemporary woodburner. The stunning view through the floor-to-ceiling gable end window is the cherry on the cake.

The large kitchen is fully equipped with all modern conveniences, including a built-in oven, microwave and smart butler sink. There’s a dining table that seats four, and a neat little breakfast bar for two – both adjacent to the living area – making Merlin Steading the most sociable of spaces.

Outdoors, you’ll enjoy access to an enclosed private patio, with its own hot tub and garden furniture. The estate and surrounding countryside also offer ample sporting, recreational and cultural opportunities – including grouse shooting, deer stalking, and salmon fishing.

Please note: Merlin Steading and four adjacent properties – Milton House, Falcon Steading, The Old Farmhouse and The Bothy – can be booked together to create luxury high quality accommodation for up to 28 guests. From September 2024, this will include access to a new dining experience room/building which is also the perfect venue for wellness retreats and small weddings or celebration parties. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate stag or hen parties at Merlin Steading.

Equipment such as BBQs, cots, private chef, etc. are all available on request and there is electric car charging on-site. Regretfully, dogs are not allowed.

LOGIEALMOND ESTATE

Falcon Steading is part of Logiealmond Estate, a privately-owned working farm and country estate in Perthshire, Scotland. Known for its beautiful scenery, the area also boasts excellent sporting and recreational opportunities all year round. These include high-quality, walked-up grouse and game shooting, first-class pheasant and partridge shooting, red, roe and fallow deer stalking, and salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Tay. Clay pigeon and rough shooting can be organised by the estate on request. Please contact the Estate Manager at philip.blount@logiealmondestate.com to make arrangements.

The town of Perth is just 12 miles away with good shopping, restaurants, sports centres and a theatre and concert hall. Road connections are excellent with nearby motorway access to the cities of Edinburgh (57 miles) and Glasgow (64 miles). Perth train station offers regular services to Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London (including the Caledonian Sleeper service) and Perth airport offers private air travel.

A stay at Logiealmond (our second) continues to feel like coming home. With its warm, well provisioned accommodations, Merlin Steading proved to be the perfect base for our stay in rural Perthshire. Whilst the accommodation itself is fantastic, what truly sets Logiealmond apart is its outstanding natural beauty across the estate, which you enjoy as a guest. Ample wildlife welcomes you to the estate, whilst the warmth of the steading's wood burners invite you in.

Absolutely fantastic! Your lodge exceeds all expectations. We have stayed in many nice accommodations on our Scotland trip, but yours are the BEST. We feel incredibly comfortable here, everything Is so lovingly and tastefully furnished and the layout of the room is excellently thought-out. Everything is exquisite. The private hot tub is a wonderful addition and a real highlight. Our children and we were very pleased . Thank you for your warm hospitality and the many nice details that made our stay so special.

This is our second time at Logiealmond and again exceeded all expectations. We couldn’t fault any part of our stay, absolutely love it here. Every detail is taken care of. Hosts are amazing! We decided to come for a few days rest and business strategy and feel relaxed and ready for the year ahead. TRANSPORT AND TRAVEL

Contact our friendly team ahead of your visit to arrange airport transfers, luxury car or mini-bus hire, or chauffeur-driven vehicles to personally meet you from any airport, train station or other location. We can also arrange drivers and vehicles for days out visiting local towns and cities, cultural and visitor attractions, castles, whisky distilleries or golf courses.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

The Logiealmond team can arrange bookings for local outdoor activity providers. Try your hand at fishing on the Tay, Scotland’s longest river, with Fishponds, or if you’re looking for an adrenaline-filled experience we can arrange white water rafting, river bugging or canyoning with Splash Rafting. Other memorable experiences include stand up paddle boarding, abseiling and paintballing.

Bring your own mountain bike to explore our network of trails around the Estate. You can also mountain bike in any of Scotland’s national forests too. In nearby Perth, we can arrange visits to Deuchny Bike Park or Comrie Croft who both have an excellent network of tracks and trails in the beautiful Perthshire countryside.

Our Estate Manager Philip, is a keen hillwalker and will be happy to advise on local walks and munros to ‘bag’ during your visit.

GAME SHOOTING AND SIMULATED GAME SHOOTING AT LOGIEALMOND

Logiealmond Estate is fast becoming renowned for its high quality sporting and hospitality driven game shoot days. See our shoot calendar for available dates between September and January with a full mix of sporting birds.

Outwith the game shooting season, guests can try their hand at clay pigeon shooting and enjoy our expert-led simulated game shoots. It’s a great outdoor sport that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age and physical ability. A fantastic activity to get together with friends and family to practice your shooting skills, improve your hand-eye coordination, and sharpen your focus!

CATERING FOR YOUR VISIT

Our concierge service can also arrange a private chef to cater for all or part of your visit. Whether you are planning a romantic dinner for two, a casual family gathering or a traditional Scottish dinner, our chef will prepare mouth-watering meals made with local produce and our own Estate-reared organic beef, lamb, venison and game.

Our team would also be delighted to recommend and book local restaurants during your holiday. We can also arrange chilled Champagne, chocolates, food hampers with local produce and fresh flowers for your visit.
